>"Imagine if a terrorist had the knowledge that an atomic bomb was going to be detonated in an American city maybe even yours and it could be avoided by waterboarding one terrorist for this information." OK, imagine that city was New York, but the terrorist knew just saying any city would end the torture. What's stopping him from lying and saying LA or Chicago instead if the end result will be the same (i.e. no more pain)? Great way of getting reliable information. Of course, that's just the opinion of a "loon" who sees the world in shades of gray instead of just black and white.

>Systemic torture is a crime against humanity there Anonymous.

You actually are, as a matter of law, in the same moral arena as the Nazis. This isn't a "goodwin" exaggeration either. The Rome Treaty actually defines systemic use of torture as a matter of government policy as a crime against humanity.

Who are the loons again?

>I say do what ever it takes to extract information that could possibly prevent another 9/11 or perhaps worse.
Imagine if a terrorist had the knowledge that an atomic bomb was going to be detonated in an American city maybe even yours and it could be avoided by waterboarding one terrorist for this information,it would be worth it. If it saves even one American life its worth doing, much more so to save millions. I am sure ythere are some loons out there that would rather Americans die than a few bad guys have emotional trauma
