>Thank you for your travel and information from Guantanamo.

You said, "After an initial assault on the Taliban, and the supporters of Osama Bin Laden, though, we quickly lost our way."

I think part of the problem is the belief that the initial invasion of Iraq was correct and if we could "end the politics of fear" and return to this "right" time, America would be fine. I remember before the invasion occurred on March 20, 2003 Americans were extremely divided about the war, and starting March 21, 2003 anti-war activists were falsely arrested, considered unpatriotic and drowned out by a chorus of fear as strong as the Tea Party shouts of today.

Currently, it doesn't matter if Obama closes Guantanamo because he's built a much bigger gulag outside U.S. territorial boundaries in Bagram, Afghanistan.

Can we please talk about really standing up to fear by getting out of Afghanistan and closing Bagram too? Peace.

Currently, it doesn't matter if Obama closes Guantanamo because he's built a much bigger gulag outside U.S. territorial boundaries in Bagram, Afghanistan.
