Yes, you are right, Bahrain is definitely one of the countries that values human rights the most, especially by all the benefits Bahraini people get, which is why I was absolutely shocked when I heard this, and more shocked when I actually looked for sources supporting this article, and they are there. I wonder if you have any sources that state that this is indeed not true or biased in some way? This would definitely help...as non of us live there at the moment and we are all aware of media bias, but it is important for us to see both sides of every story...Therefore, if you have those sources please go ahead and share them, I am sure all the readers would appreciate them!

Whether you like it or not, the US does in one way or another sponsor students who support AlQaeda's beliefs because it is a democracy, and if you think about it this is what essentially led to the tragic events of 9,11 (not that I in anyway agree with this, but its true). Moreover, comparing AlQaeda to the Bahraini government is quite extreme, a more valid comparison would be a protest against the Obama administration, or the Bush one back in the day, and these do take place all the time. Democratic "anti-government" protests take place in the US (outside the white house to be more specific) all the time, the government has never attacked them or revoked their rights for education which is one of the basic human rights for everyone and this is agreed upon internationally. Everyone here has the right to express their opinion, no matter how extreme it is, that's what freedom of speech is all about, is it not? These students represent part of the future society of Bahrain, and their pleas should be at least heard, I think, they should not be shut down and forced to show their obedience to a government they do not support...Every government gains more power by making use of opposite opinions and taking it as a chance for reform and growth...Retaliation leads to further retaliation, if we have learned anything from what has been happening all over the middle-east this year, it should be this!

Are you suggesting that the government continues to sponsor individuals who call for its downfall. Would the US govt sponsor students supporting AlQaeda or Islamic fundamentalism? They are valid ideals aren't they? Students that do not show loyalty to the government that believed in them and invested in their future do not deserve to be supported it.
