i watched on CNN as Eman recounted her plight to international journalists.in my opinion that was very brave. what was harrowing was how the hotel staff, shut her up,i think she deserves safety for she asked for it. those who were assaulted and kept silent are still at risk of being assaulted again. its up to them to speak up,like Eman did.

My dear friend Ghadaffi,
Please I beg of you, resign and leave so that the sufferings of the Libyans will cease. You have over-stayed your welcome. Hosni Mubarak was a very wise guy and I am sure he may end up getting a mild punishment
Accept the South African goverment's proposal I think it is good, or, swallow your pride and negociate with the US government if the statesmen can still be trusted to keep their promises. These world powers efforts combined is something you cannot deal with.
You are a nice guy. It's just that your regime is too authoritarian and you know your name is already in their black book.
I wish you luck.

Now that Amnesty and Human Rights Watch have admitted to being duped by NATO/US propaganda will you? Women have more rights in Libya that anywhere else in the area. But, no, you want to help Islamic law be instituted there? Why don't you care about human rights and actually help Libyan women?

Well, well, well! I wonder why US was so quick with Al-Obeidi's asylum application when there are many in far more danger than she for real political reasons not for what still amounts to an unproven alleged rape?

And I wonder why the Qataris deported her back to Benghazi, by the way what we in the West are consistently told is the "free Libya", and from where Al-Obeidi was originally from so presumably safe for her protected by the freedom fighters!

I bet there is more to this story which never rang true and seemed a pure set up, for me at least. But she has what she wanted, to live in the US so if they now use her as a pawn to parade on TV to further demonize the regime well at least she will earn good money! I just wonder if in a few years time if we won't read about her in some other con like the mentally ill Spanish lady who conned the US about having been a survivor from one of the twin towers of 9/11. Perhaps the Qataris also saw through her story too!
