		<description>I agree in principal. In reality, however, the immigration judge is basically a second prosecutor anyway and will do what ICE recommends 99% of the time. Look who hires them, it&#039;s the Attorney General! Introducing a fair and impartial component someplace into the immigration process would sure be fantastic, as it&#039;s currently based on something out of 1940&#039;s Germany.</description>

First Friends, which provides service to 1,500 detainees in the Meto NY area, sees the large number of detainees suffering under poor to terrible conditions whose incarceration should be subject to judicial review.  This should be for all detainees, not just asylum seekers.

Beyond this, mandatory detention should be abolished in favor critcal evaluation of the real risk in each case.  Why detain our neighbhors?</description>
