Joined Human Rights First in 2013
As the ACE Rule of Law and Human Rights Fellow, Kate supports the Refugee Protection program’s strategic advocacy initiatives.
Prior to joining Human Rights First, Kate completed a one-year fellowship for intensive advanced language study in Syria, followed by a year as a Fulbright scholar in Morocco. Kate is co-authoring Law and Lawlessness in Guantanamo: The Memoirs of Lakhdar Boumediene and Mohammad Ayt Jdir (working title), which is expected to be released this fall.
Kate has a dual degree in law and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Kate founded and led the Penn Law chapter of the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) and worked with IRAP’s national office.
