Kathryn is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Washington office. As part of the Refugee Protection program, she is responsible for providing administrative and programmatic support to advance the program’s efforts to influence laws and policies impacting asylum seekers. As part of the Business and Human Rights initiative, she works closely with the senior advisor on issues related to Internet freedom and corporate accountability.

Before joining Human Rights First, Kathryn was a research associate at the Brookings-Bern Project on Internal Displacement, as well as the Institute for the Study of International Migration. While at Georgetown, Kathryn interned at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants and Refugees International.

Kathryn received her M.A. in Latin American Studies and Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies from Georgetown University’s School of Service (2009) and her B.A. in Latin American Studies from Willamette University (2007).
