Nancy comes to HRF with a background in communications strategy, government relations, issues management, development, and national and international nonprofit management.
In 2007 Nancy served as a senior communications advisor to Live Earth, the global entertainment event and on line movement designed to engage a worldwide audience on the issue of the climate crisis. Prior to that she served as Senior Executive Director of Integrated Communications at UCLA, where she developed and managed communications strategies designed to enhance the University's brand among key constituencies.
Nancy’s nonprofit experience includes roles as Executive Director of Step Up Women's Network, a national nonprofit organization committed to advancing philanthropy and volunteerism in the entertainment and media industries to affect social change for women and girls and Vice President of International Medical Corps, a global humanitarian organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training, relief and development programs.
Nancy served as Chief of Staff in the Office of International Information Programs at the U. S. Information Agency where she oversaw planning and implementation for international strategic communications programs and initiatives on behalf of the United States Government. She continued her government service as Director of Communications and Strategic Planning for the State Department, where she oversaw communications activities to support the Secretary of State's Foreign Policy initiatives and developed strategy in coordination with the Offices of the Foreign Affairs spokespersons for the President, Vice President, Department of Defense, Secretary of State and the National Security Council's Office of Communications.
Nancy is a National Board Member of the Women’s Leadership Forum (WLF) of the Democratic National Committee, a member of the Pacific Council on International Relations and a Founding Board Member of Climate Cartoons.
