Mary Elizabeth Margolis

Director, Communications Strategies and Media

Mary Elizabeth works to raise the public profile of Human Rights First’s advocacy, legal representation, and issue experts through developing and working with the communications department to implement comprehensive communications campaigns integrating digital, social, and print media content to achieve maximum impact. She oversees the organization’s press outreach and executive positioning efforts, and is responsible for cultivating relationships with media contacts and developing media strategies that support the mission and advocacy goals of the organization.

Prior to joining Human Rights First, Mary Elizabeth was Senior Account Executive at North 6th Agency, a New York City based public relations agency, where she managed the execution of comprehensive public relations programs for a diverse set of clients. She began her career working on Capitol Hill with a fellowship with Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK), followed by positions in issue advocacy for the Business Institute for Political Analysis (BIPAC) and Story Partners, LLC, a DC based public affairs firm.

Mary Elizabeth graduated summa cum laude from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business Administration.
