As Senior Director of Government Relations, Maurice Daniel develops and leads Human Rights First’s initiatives directed at Congress and the executive branch to advance American leadership on human rights. Maurice is an accomplished government and public affairs professional with extensive experience in campaigns, government relations, public policy, issues management and public affairs.
Prior to joining Human Rights First, Maurice served as Managing Director of Integrated Capital Strategies, an asset management and financial services firm where he led the government affairs division. Previously, Maurice was a principal in an award-winning political direct mail and consulting firm in Washington D.C. where he led communications and brand management efforts through direct mail for several large member organizations, national message campaigns and candidates.
Maurice his career in campaign politics working on dozens of campaigns on the federal level eventually advancing to Capitol Hill to be a congressional chief of staff and later to the White House as National Political Director for former Vice President Gore. He is a native of South Carolina and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He is Six Sigma certified.
