Human Rights First is a member of the Jury of the MEA, the Martin Ennals Award for Human Rights Defenders, which is given annually to human rights defenders at risk for their exemplary work.
The objective of the Award is to ensure maximum protection by mobilizing public opinion through mass media (television).

The Martin Ennals Award has become the award of the whole international human rights movement because it is given by a world coalition of top human rights organisations.
