Working with a forceful coalition of retired generals and admirals, we are fighting the abusive and flawed national security policies adopted in the wake of 9/11. These retired military leaders speak strongly about how these policies are damaging the military and U.S. national security.
Originally mobilized to speak out against torture, the group sent influential letters to congressional leaders and participated in our campaign seeking to influence 2008 Presidential candidates. The group worked with the Obama Administration in its early days and stood behind the president when he signed the executive order ending torture.
Today the group has turned its attention to Guantánamo. Back on the campaign trail leading up to the 2010 midterm elections, the group is meeting with candidates in key races to discuss the importance of maintaining the rule of law in our national security policies.
