Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) refugees often face particular challenges in accessing protection and refugee assistance and their vulnerability can be compounded by discrimination, marginalization, and bias-motivated violence. Human Rights First advocates with the U.N. Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the United States government and other relevant stakeholders to address gaps in the protection of LGBTI refugees.
