Feinstein Call for Redactions Review Protects CIA Torture Report’s Credibility
Washington, DC – Today in response to Senator Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) decision to delay the release of the Senate intelligence committee’s CIA torture report until questions about excessive redactions made by the administration are addressed, Human Rights First’s Raha Wala issued the following statement:
"In the name of transparency and the president's own anti-torture policy, the White House should direct the intelligence community to cooperate with the committee to ensure minimal redactions to the report. The American people deserve the truth about what was done in their name, not a report made irrelevant or incomplete by excessive and unnecessary redactions."
