As Communications Strategist at Human Rights First, Alex Yellin creates content and oversees social and traditional media strategies to advance the organization’s advocacy work.
Before joining Human Rights First, Alex managed communications, fundraising, and advocacy projects at Vinfen, a nonprofit that provides community-based services for people with mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and behavioral health challenges. She has previously held research roles in the areas of developmental psychology, voter behavior, and cancer treatment. Alex has also served on several political campaigns.
Alex earned her Master’s in Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where she concentrated on urban and social policy and specialized in media and communications. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Boston University, where she minored in English.
