Cole Blum

Advocacy Associate

As Advocacy Associate, Cole focuses on supporting the government advocacy team across Human Rights First's issue areas. He helps lead the organization’s engagement with Capitol Hill on issues related to national security and domestic militarization, and he helps conduct political and policy research on a wide range of human rights issues. His writing has been published numerous times in Just Security.

Previously, Cole worked in government relations at Subject Matter, a political consulting firm, and interned on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
