Laura Salter is a Legal Services Coordinator in the Washington, D.C. office of Human Rights First. She works closely with asylum-seeking clients and pro bono attorneys, conducting initial screenings and intake interviews, as well as assisting with outreach and case placement for asylum-seekers. She supports attorneys through the life of each asylum case.
Prior to joining Human Rights First, Laura completed a Master’s degree in International Relations at New York University. During her graduate studies, she was the Editor-in-Chief of NYU’s Journal of Political Inquiry, an academic journal and online news presence. She also coordinated and promoted NYU’s study abroad and exchange programs in France as the NYU Paris Program Assistant. She held an internship at the global strategic consultancy BLJ Worldwide, where she assisted with project research, media monitoring, and analysis for diverse global clients. Laura also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and International Studies from Harding University.
