As a legal services coordinator for the Washington, D.C. Refugee Representation team, Martha Arreola serves as a liaison between mentoring attorneys, pro bono attorney teams, and clients to ensure high-quality legal representation for asylum seekers.
Bilingual in Spanish and English, Martha is experienced in interpretation and document translation. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla in Mexico and is a certified paralegal by the Paralegal Institute of Washington, D.C.
Prior to joining Human Rights First, Martha worked as a specialist in community engagement at a private school in Puebla, Mexico, where she organized and led several events and initiatives to promote social justice causes. After moving to the DMV area, Martha's love for service and justice led her to seek opportunities to serve the asylum community. She was a volunteer with Human Rights First for three years before joining as staff.
