Muhammad Hamza is the administrative assistant for Refugee Representation in the Washington, D.C. office. Muhammad handles the complex administrative details of Human Rights First’s work with indigent asylum seekers in the D.C. metro area.
Prior to joining Human Rights First, Muhammad provided professional interpretation services to Fairfax County Public Schools and the National Foreign Language Center at the University of Maryland. Muhammad also served as the office administrator for the Law Offices of Alan Parra in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he provided support and assistance during the course of complex immigration litigation. Before he came to the United States, Muhammad worked with the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, heading the human rights violations investigations team. He also worked with AGHS Legal Aid Center as the Coordinator for their children’s rights program.
Muhammad received his Associate’s Degree from the University of Punjab in Sociology and Journalism. He is also fluent in Punjabi and Urdu.
