Saleh al-Marri Capture

The CIA told the Office of Inspector General that the use of enhanced interrogation on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) led to the capture of Saleh al-Marri, “a sleeper operative in New York,” and that before KSM’s interrogation, the CIA had “no concrete information on al-Marri.” In fact, KSM was captured on March 1, 2003, and al-Marri was captured in December 2001. The FBI “had extensive records on al-Marri,” and according to CIA records, “prior to the CIA’s detention of KSM, the CIA possessed significant information on al-Marri.”
