Client Emergency Fund

People seeking asylum often arrive in the United States after fleeing persecution and violence, with few resources and urgent basic needs. In their first days and weeks, many face challenges such as food insecurity, lack of clothing, limited access to essential supplies, and the absence of local support networks.

The Human Rights First Client Emergency Fund helps meet these immediate needs so that refugees and asylum seekers can focus on rebuilding their lives and pursuing safety through the legal process.

Your contribution helps provide critical assistance — from food and clothing to transportation and other basic necessities.

Every gift helps ensure that people seeking protection are treated with dignity as they navigate the legal process in the United States.

Your Donation Can Provide:

  • $200 – A welcome kit including essential clothing and shoes.
  • $150 – One week’s worth of nourishing groceries.
  • $75 – A “good night” kit with pillows, bedding, and blankets.
  • $60 – Phone credits in detention so individuals can connect with loved ones and access legal support.
  • $50 – A hygiene kit with items such as a toothbrush, hairbrush, and basic shower supplies.

Even small contributions can make a meaningful difference for people rebuilding their lives.
